We are happy to introduce Bill Myers to the L-Tron team!
Below is a short “getting to know you” interview we did with Bill when he came on board.
1. Why did you decide to come work for L-Tron?
During the interview process it was clear that the L-Tron sales philosophy matches my own: to win business by focusing on solving customers’ problems. I also like the company culture. And I’m excited about the challenges offered to me for helping bring to market a mobile product to a sector that really needs it.
2. What are you currently working on for L-Tron?
I’m currently focused on selling our ChildFirst mobile solution to social services agencies.
3. What is your background?
I spent eight years in journalism (first in radio, later in print). After that I moved into sales, starting with inside sales but moving to outside sales in 2014. I worked for Unisys for eight years, and since then I’ve worked for smaller, locally based companies.
4. What makes you a tech nerd?
My first computer was a used Compaq (remember them?) and I upgraded the heck out of the hardware, OS and software as a hobby. I taught myself a lot about computers that way and since then I’ve always felt if the computer could automate it, I should let it! That lets me focus on the work that means the most – in this case, engaging with customers, identifying their problems and solving them.
5. What do you like to do outside of work?
I like playing with my animals (two greyhounds and two cats), exercising, volunteering with the Rush-Henrietta Rotary Club, reading comic books, drawing (particularly figure drawing), and now I’m dabbling in writing fiction. One of these days I’d like to try my hand at creating my own comic book and making it available online – if I can ever find the time!
