Posted on May 18, 2015 by CitizensVoice newspaper in Wilkes-Barre, PA, the article sheds light on the new electronic ticketing (eCitation) system recently implemented in the Sugarloaf Township. The Township switched from handwritten tickets to eCitation to speed up the citation process.
But in the article, the Township’s Police Chief explains that eCitation benefits beyond speedy citations. He notes that with eCitation, his department is able to:
- Store motorists information for potential future offenses
- Quickly add charges to the citation
- Look up the motorist’s previous offenses
- Search for criminal history tied to the motorist
