Warehouse Management

Warehousing efficiency is a critical success factor to effectively managing the supply chain in any business. The concept of a warehouse has changed. Many business do not stock and store material for long periods of time. In order to minimize the funds tied up in stock, many companies have implemented advanced "Electronic Pull Systems" (EPS). In these systems, the fixed material warehouse is replaced by a small temporary warehouse. Suppliers deliver components to the manufacturer within the appointed time. The components are sent to the production line for assembly shortly after they are placed in this temporary warehouse. The management and transportation of the temporary warehouse is a challenge.
